We have developed a customer portal for GDB Logistics that allows customers to view and manage their supply chains within a single programme. The portal connects all of GDB's logistics management systems, providing comprehensive, real-time insights into every stage of the logistics process: forwarding from the source, transport to the warehouses, and finally, storage. Furthermore, orders can be placed directly through the portal via manual entry or bulk upload, including validation mechanisms that ensure data accuracy.
GDB Logistics is a logistics company that provides supply-chain services worldwide. It manages the entire supply chain — forwarding, transport, and storage — for its clients. Storage can take place at the client's locations or in GDB's own warehouses. Clients require a transparent and user-friendly logistics process to plan and manage their goods flows as effectively as possible.

Withal, clients had limited insight into their supply chains, having to navigate through various different screens for orders, transport statuses, and inventory. No fewer than five separate management systems handled these components independently, making data exchange prone to errors.
There was, therefore, no effective way to consult all information about a chain at a single glance. Clearly, there was room for improvement!

As such, we have used low code to develop a central customer portal — a "one-stop shop" — that assembles all separate systems. It offers users a consistent and integrated overview of their data, with all parts of the chain communicating with one another. For example, a customer can easily search by item number and see exactly which orders are linked to it and where the batches are along the journey. Thanks to integrated, dynamic Power BI reports (see the related project here), clients can check the status of orders, shipments, and inventory at any time without having to consult a collection of separate systems. This allows them to plan ahead with confidence.
Orders can also be placed directly and stored goods, despatched from the warehouses without repetitive manual tasks. Finally, we delivered additional functionalities, such as timely alerts for deviations from normal behaviour and various options for exporting data.
In short, customers can work faster and more cost-effectively on their deliveries. Thanks to the user-friendly customer portal, GDB has become a leader in the logistics sector and is ready for the next step.
We take an important step in increasing supply chain transparency for our customers and in setting a higher standard within our sector. The portal provides a solid foundation for data-driven insights and collaboration ― and this is just the beginning.
