What are you going to do?

As a Junior Business Technology Consultant at Quatronic, you are responsible for developing low-code solutions for our customers. You dive into the customer's business processes and consider how this can be done digitally and better. You do this by developing functionalities that are based on low code: a visual way of programming building flows, screens and logic. Of course, this includes reviews by colleagues and rounds of feedback from the customer, until the customer is satisfied and the solution can be implemented.

In the first month, we will teach you everything you need to know to work with the low-code platform OutSystems. Next, you will apply this knowledge to your first project with a customer. You usually work with two or three colleagues in a team, in two-week sprints.

It is possible quickly to build up your responsibility during the first year. For example, attending introductory meetings with customers and coordinating budget and planning within your project.

Monday through Thursday, we work at or for customers; on Fridays, there is time to work on developing Quatronic or yourself. You could be busy with personal development, knowledge sharing, developing new propositions for customers, organising events or preparing a sales meeting.

Practical example

From client’s business process to digital solution

As Business Technology Consultant, you are working on a client portal for an organisation in logistics. The goal: to unite various logistic processes into one user-friendly environment, such that clients no longer depend on emails, Excel files and other systems.

Your work does not immediately start by building a system. First, you and the client investigate the business process together: how is an order for transport or warehousing created? Which information does a client require to track his delivery? Where are manual actions required and how could the process be improved?

‍

Then, you translate these wishes into a technical solution and effect this together with the team. You might work on other functionalities that clients use to place orders themselves, to view their stock, to download documents or to follow their logistic processes’ status.

One day, you are in discussion with the client to get to the bottom of his business process; the next, you build a solution and review it with users as to what might be improved. You continually ask yourself: what does the user really need and how can we employ technology to that effect as well as possible?
